Course Contents: 

  • Introduction to Management Information Systems:

System, its elements, characteristics, Information System (IS), Contemporary Approaches to IS, Key Management issues, Management Information System(MIS), MIS sub-systems, Components of Computer Based Information systems(CBIS).

  • Information System In The Enterprise:

Major Types of  systems in an organization, Relationships of Systems to one another, Enterprise Systems and Systems for Supply Chain Management( SCM),Customer Relation Management (CRM) & Knowledge Management, Case Study.

  • Information Systems, Organizations, Management & Strategy:

Information Technology Infrastructure and IT Services, Strategy Information System, Industry Level Strategy & Information Systems.

  • Managing Data Resources:

Organizing Data in a Traditional File Environment, Database Management Systems (DBMS) & Types of Databases, Creating Databases Environment, Management Requirements for Database Systems, Data warehousing & Data Mining.
